Koh Samui
Koh Samui

A short flight from Bangkok with Thailand’s Boutique airline “Bangkok Airways” brings you to the small but thriving island of Koh Samui. An expanse of mature coconut groves and green-coated mountain formations, combined with numerous inviting beaches awaits you.

Even the island’s airport is an experience. With its beautifully maintained grounds and authentic Thai-style thatched Sala houses, serving as the arrival and departure terminals, you get an immediate feeling of the famous Thai culture and atmosphere. Indeed, most visitors talk of this on their return.

The island itself is only 25 kilometres long and 21 kilometres wide and has a population of no more than 40,000 people. Despite this, Koh Samui offers something for every visitor. From relaxing on the beach with a book and a cocktail to a wide range of water sports and scuba diving, elephant trekking, bungy jumping, scenic waterfalls, outstanding golf facilities, supervised rifle shooting ranges and nightclubs, Samui has it all.

The local Thai people are the real reason Koh Samui has become what it is today; with the majority of the population following the traditional Buddhist way of life, their true spirit of life, friendly and welcoming personalities give you an immediate sense of welcome and comfort.

The island has naturally developed over the years and is no longer a secret backpackers’ hideaway but an affluent international resort. You can now find many of the brand name shops in the thriving shopping areas of the island, including Boots the chemist, Tesco’s supermarket, Cerruti, Benneton, Guy Laroche, Adidas, Nike and La Coste to name but a few.

Dining on Samui also now offers an immense choice, from budget traditional Thai eating stalls and beach restaurants to 5-star international cuisine which caters to every taste and pocket.

Samui’s climate makes it a good all year round destination and perfect winter getaway. The ‘dry’ season is from January until May and July through to September. Temperatures often reach 30 – 35 degrees until May and then 35 – 40 until September with the odd shower from July to September. The ‘wet’ season is from mid October through to mid/end December, although temperatures still average 25 – 30 degrees.

All of this considered, Koh Samui has become not only a favourite return holiday destination, but a tropical home for many people who fell in love with the island and its local residents on their first visit.

A wide array of homes are available on the island to suit all requirements and budgets. So if you are after a holiday home, a rental investment or are considering relocating to Samui full time, then please browse through our detailed Web site to see the wide choice on offer.
